The challenge:
The multi-step methods of protein sample preparation for mass spectrometry analysis have inherent challenges of time, contamination and sample loss. When preparing biological fluids (e.g. plasma and serum) for proteomic analyses, harsh reagents may introduce artificial modifications resulting in reduced protein and peptide identifications.
The solution:
PreOmics®’ iST-BCT sample preparation kit was developed to enable the robust processing of biological fluids and has been optimized to minimize artificial modifications (e.g. deamidation, oxidation) and increase the alkylation rate. Complex workflows previously requiring many different reagents over a two day time period are replaced by a single kit containing all standardized reagents to accomplish preparation for mass spectrometry protein analysis whether manually, semi or fully automated on the PreON in a 2 hour time window.
